At DCC Accounting we are inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of business owners, individuals who choose their independence and passionately guide their own success. We are so proud to be a partner to our clients and help empower their entrepreneurial journey, while they inspire us each and every day.
In this blog, we will begin sharing these client stories as we believe different businesses can inspire each other. With the Holidays in full swing, we share Paola Vergara’s journey to building a successful event and floral boutique design company.

What inspires you in the creative side of your work?
My work is all about how people feel in their surroundings, creating that special place that makes moments and celebrations memorable. I get inspiration from everywhere throughout my day. It could be from a magazine, a post on Instagram, or nature. Nature really inspires me because of its lack of structure and natural beauty.
How has your vision changed since you started?
I am back to basics honing in my original vision: it is all about creating extraordinary experiences for my customers and their guests. I have also grown and learned a lot on the business side of things. One of the lessons I am most grateful for has been introducing guidelines and principles that serve as boundaries and help us in improving our operations.
What advice do you have for someone wanting to start a creative business?
It is crucial to remain true to yourself and your own creativity; to what makes you, your product, your service unique. Real creativity comes from within, so it’s essential not to imitate other people or follow trends, but to create your own.
What is the first thing you do in the morning to start your day?
I usually start with a cup of tea while being in tune with my surroundings. Many times I merely look for inspiration just outside in my garden, especially while watching the sunrise. Creativity, for me, is the result of the triggers caused by my surroundings.
What is your personal or professional motto?
When you love what you do and you are persistent and patient, good things will always bloom.
Can you share any initial tips for hosting during the Holidays?
Don’t confuse luxury with having a special event. The little details go a long way to have that wow factor among guests. It can be a signature, lively colored drink, or the ambiance created by lighting candles or anything that creates a pleasing environment of tastes and smells. My personal favorite is placing rosemary on the tables, but it’s all about your own personal style.
